German language classes for Ukrainians

books

Around 200 refugees from Ukraine are already accommodated in Klosterneuburg. They are preferably cared for in private quarters and receive the best possible support from the families in Klosterneuburg who have taken them in. The children and young people are able to attend school just a few days after they have been accommodated in Klosterneuburg. They are admitted to elementary schools, middle schools and high schools.

It is particularly important that everyone can take part in German courses as quickly as possible, which is why the adult education center URANIA Klosterneuburg immediately set up classes for elementary school students, students from the age of ten and adults. In just a few days, Director

Dr. Rudolf Koch managed to organize four teachers who were specially trained in German as a foreign language and who were immediately willing to take on these additional classes.

A big „thank you“ goes to the Rotary Club Klosterneuburg, the Lions Club Klosterneuburg-Babenberg and the Lions Club Klosterneuburg Futura as well as the Soroptimist Club Klosterneuburg: Together they cover the costs for the first series of basic German courses for Ukraine refugees. The municipality of Klosterneuburg has approved the financing of further courses in a resolution, and there is also support from the umbrella organization of adult education centres.
